2008's FEATURED BASHED BUSINESS IS...
Ford Motor Company
for running a major corporation for ONE HUNDRED AND FIVE YEARS and basically NOT having a SINGLE DOLLAR LEFT in the company and resorting to BEGGING and asking for HANDOUTS from the government. Particularly interesting was Ford's CEO Mr. Alan David Mulally saying that he would not accept $1 for a salary because he was comfortable with his MULTI-MILLION DOLLAR salary.
We further Congratulate them with an estimated 250 deaths and more than 3,000 serious injuries resulted from failures involved in tread separation with Ford & Firestone. Maybe you have not seen what a truck ROLLOVER caused by tread separation looks like. Here is the accident that two people were in, in an Ford F150 in Dec. 2008, which could have killed both of them. However, the tree that they hit at 65-70mph saved their lives and prevented them from rolling over two or three more times. As you can see in the photographs below, there is nothing left of the truck. Click any photo for a larger photo.
Joan Claybrook, who was the president of the public advocacy group Public Citizen and previously an Administrator of the National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration (NHTSA), stated before the Transportation Subcommittee United States Senate Committee on Appropriations on September 6, 2000, that, "there was a documented coverup by Ford and Firestone of the 500 defect".
"The first thing that would make me feel a little bit better towards them is if they'd follow the Japanese model and come before the American people and take that deep bow and say I'm sorry, and then either do one of two things -- resign, or go commit suicide."
-Sen. Charles Grassley (R-Iowa) CNN/Money talking about AIG, but it probably applies to Ford as well.
The Henry Ford Family and Executives decided to pay THEMSELVES AND EXECUTIVES millions and millions and possibly BILLIONS of dollars over the last 105 years. Why hasn't anyone come up with a total of exactly how much money the Ford Family as a whole has made in 105 years and where did that money go to, OTHER than their bank accounts? They took all that money out of their business and now that their business needs money, they don't want to put some back into it? Why the hell should Congress give them money if they aren't evening willing to reinvest into their own company?
We did NOT contact Ford to see if they gave a shit about what happened. Seeing Mr. Alan David Mullaly on TV saying that he was comfortable with his salary, while asking the government to give him money, told us that we don't want to spend money on a company like that. We would rather buy a KIA. KIA decided to build an automobile manufacturing plant to the United States. They are building it in Georgia. The plant will be just over an hour south of Atlanta, Georgia in West Point.
